About Us

Camp CosbyThe Mission of the Birmingham Abstinence Education Program is to assist youth and their parents in making healthy choices that will enhance their quality of life. To fulfill our mission, we are devoted to educating young people in grades six thru twelve on the importance of hope, patience, commitment and perseverance as it pertains to abstaining from unhealthy relationships and risky behaviors.

We aspire to help create an environment within communities that supports teen decisions to postpone sexual activity until marriage. The program’s aim is to increase knowledge, heighten awareness and encourage choices that will increase our youth’s potential for positive outcomes. We value our youth and embrace each challenge with a commitment to make a difference in their lives, in order that our children today will have a better tomorrow.
